Spanish for Black Girls is for ambitious black women who want to learn Spanish to use it at work, with friends and family in everyday conversation, and for travel. Whether you’ve had Spanish before and lost it or you simply want to become more confident in your speaking and comprehension skills, this course will help.

We assume our students are beginners to intermediate and designed the course to give you a firm foundation in the language and then we expand to give you more. We also focus on certain themes like everyday conversation and small talk, workplace conversations, and travel. These topics will have beginner to advanced Spanish used within them. Our goal is to have you speak Spanish like a native™ so we teach you grammar, pronunciation, and all the things others say you don’t need but with a focus on real conversational Spanish.

The course is self-paced and will unlock as you complete each module and the assessments in order. It is designed to take 8-10 weeks. We’ve designed the course in short bite sized chunks to fit into your busy schedule. Take a minimum 15 minutes per day or more to practice and you’ll soon become a bilingual Queen.

Fluency is the ability to sustain a conversation. That’s it. Our goal is to have you comfortable and fluent in the scenarios we teach you. We’ve designed each lesson with practice exercises and assessment. Plus, you have weekly Q&A. Show up to class and you will be more than confident in your ability. In our experience, you can be comfortably situationally fluent in 90 days or less depending on how much you practice.

No. But, it was created by a certified teacher with over 25 years studying, speaking, and teaching the language. Course materials were created using language native speakers use from Latin America. Audios and exercises were created with native speakers as well as our founder Kaywanda Lamb who has native speaker ability and fluency. You will receive a certificate once you complete the course to show your employer that you have pursued learning Spanish as professional development.

We believe that people don’t learn a language from grammar alone or by simply listening and speaking random Spanish sentences or by learning vocabulary all day. We believe all are necessary. A proper mix of grammar, vocabulary, speaking, active listening, reading, and writing about scenarios and things that matter to you to survive and thrive in the real world. We utilize authentic input to prepare you.
